Research Service



The St. Louis Genealogical Society provides limited genealogical research in the St. Louis area. Research sources include: census indexes, death records, marriage records, obituaries from local newspapers, cemetery indexes, etc.

Cost and Time



The cost per request is $5.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members. See the StLGS Research Policy for complete details.

The society receives many requests for this service. So please allow 60 days for a response to your inquiry.

How to Make a Research Request



Research can be requested by using the StLGS Research Request Form, which can be downloaded here. This form uses Adobe Reader® software to view and print. The form is also available in the StLGS office, or by mail to the StLGS office. If requesting a copy by mail, please include a self-addressed stamped return envelope (SASE).
