Contents of the St. Louis City Ward Maps CD

There are twenty-eight wards in the City of St. Louis. Several of the wards were combined into one map for specific years. The CD is indexed and includes a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader. In total there are 297 maps on the CD.
The Board of Election Commissioners for the City of St. Louis has granted permission to the St. Louis Genealogical Society to reproduce the City of St. Louis ward maps for the presidential election years from 1908 through 1952. Maps for 1920, 1944, and 1948 are missing. Substitute maps are included for 1943 and 1946. Maps showing the Congressional Districts for each year except 1932 are also included.

This CD contains maps photocopied from the original bound books and scanned into PDF formatted files, for use with Adobe Acrobat Reader®.

The detail on the maps is excellent, showing every city block. Each street has the address in hundreds and identifies the odd and even numbers as being on the north, south, east, or west side of the street. Thus, if you know an address for your ancestor’s home, you can locate on the map(s) the exact block where they lived. These maps can also help you pinpoint the location of churches, schools, or cemeteries.

Using Adobe Acrobat Reader You use Adobe Acrobat Reader to view each map, as shown here.
