The National Genealogical Society produces a series of state-specific research aides, and this is one of the books in the Research in the States series.

What will you find inside?

Well-documented short chapters begin with a history and settlement of the area and then work through archives, libraries, and societies. These are followed by a long list of major resources.

How is the book formatted?

The section called “Archives, Libraries, and Societies” contains information on the major research facilities in the state as well as some smaller local facilities. There is contact information, including websites, if applicable, for each. The “Major Resources” section goes alphabetically through state-specific resources for your research. These include record groups such as biographical guides, directories, ethnic records, land records, and many more. The book is not indexed.
