|Surname Researchers||| Print ||
Over the years, Society members and others have submitted surnames for various charts and indexes, which could be published, catalogued, and/or made available for research purposes. These contributions have been accumulated in a number of ways. The Society website has indexes for some of these name collections, such as the Vertical Files and Four-Generation Charts.
At the end of 2004, the Society announced a new program to allow members to place surnames they are researching onto its website. The members provide the surname, the time period, and the location being investigated, along with contact information. While anyone can access this database of surnames and researchers, ONLY Society members may submit names to the list. If you find information on the list that matches your research interest, contact the Society member as indicated in the table.
The Surname List
A member who submits surnames provides her/his name along with some combination of address, and phone number as contact information. It is the submitting member's choice as to how much of this information to submit. Click on the surname selections below to see the list of names members are researching and open up a whole new research direction.
How to Submit Names
To submit your surnames to this list, download this form and follow the instructions. Then, mail it to, or drop it off at, the Society office. The form is also available at the Society office and at many Society events. Since the Society must have your signature to authorize posting personal information on its website, these names cannot be submitted on-line. This is a member service; you must be a member of the St. Louis Genealogy Society to submit surnames to this list. A member is limited to four (4) surnames submitted. The e-mail addresses submitted are included on this site in a manner that protects them from automated spam e-mail harvesters.
