Our next meeting will be Saturday, 8 November 2014 at 10 a.m. in the auditorium at St. Louis County Library Headquarters.
The meetings, co-sponsored by the St. Louis Genealogical Society and the St. Louis County Library, are free and open to the public.
The November general meeting will feature Mike Everman and Nick Allen, from the St. Louis Circuit Court Historical Records Project, who will talk about “Details of a Probate File: Gone but Not Forgotten.” Probate estate files contain documents that can provide information about an ancestor's financial assets, personal property, debts, death and burial, and relationships with friends, enemies, and relatives. Indexes and case files for thousands of people are preserved and available at the probate court office, on microfilm, or online via the websites of the Probate Court and the Missouri State Archives.
Please note: We are on our Saturday morning fall/winter schedule. The meeting will start promptly at 10 a.m., so be sure to be on time.
