Sunstrokes .-. We do not think that there ever occurred in this city as many deaths in two consecutive days, from this cause, as took place Saturday and the day previous. Messengers succeeded each other in quick succession both days in search of the Coroner who had been kept busy holding inquests for the last 48 hours. Among the numerous cases we heard of was one peculiarly distressing---that of a German named Frederick Hunning, who, while burying his son in Pickett's (sic) Cemetery on the Gravois Road, was sun struck, and died at the burying ground before he could be removed to his residence on the Bcllefontaine Road. |
