She spent several days among Chester acquaintances, until Sunday, when she announced that she must return home that day, as she intended placing a quilt in the frames the day following, and was desirous of completing it shortly. The old lady made the return trip afoot, thinking it no hardship. She is one of our oldest settlers, having lived here when there were but a half dozen houses in the place, and has seen the deer and the red man upon the grounds now occupied by streets and houses. |
