Funeral from family residence to St. Michael's Church, thence to cemetery. William Stanton was born in the Parish of Scull, County Cork, Ireland, but lived the greater portion of his years in Bantry, in the same country. He emigrated to America in 1848. He raised a family of six sons and six daughters. Two of the daughters and one son survive. The father worked in Canada, Ohio and Illinois as a railway hand and cellar contractor. He amassed considerable property, and for many years lived on his income. He leaves the children mentioned above and a wife who, with tottering footsteps, followed his coffin to the hearse. The old lady, being over 90 and apparently in a fair way to live a good many years more. The body was taken to Calvary cemetery where Rev. Wm. Noonan performed the Burial service.
