Resident of St. Louis for 51 years. She came from Philadelphia with her father, Mr. Warrance, making the trip across the Alleghanies in a carriage, long before the mountains were spanned by railroads. Her husband died 23 years ago. Since then she earned a livelihood for her and her only daughter by selling books. She was renowned for her charity, although she was not a member of any religious denomination. At the time of her death she was 75 years of age, the eldest and last of a family of nine children. The funeral will be conducted by Dr. Porteous at her residence.
