Benefits of Membership
Members of StLGS enjoy certain benefits that non-members do not. These include special lower pricing on events, classes, books, CDs, clothing items, etc., as well as access to certain databases and publications.
To apply, you must be a member of the St. Louis Genealogical Society. Any member of the St. Louis Genealogical Society who can prove a straight-line descendancy from an early St. Louis resident in one of these three categories is eligible to join First Families:
Founding Families (1765–1804)
Pioneer Families (1805–1821)
Immigrant Families (1822–1865)
Read more about first families by clicking here. If you are not yet a member of the St. Louis Genealogical Society, find out how to join!

Volunteer Opportunities
The St. Louis Genealogical Society is staffed entirely by volunteers. There are many opportunities available from active involvement to just a few times per year. Volunteering for StLGS also allows you to meet and network with others who share your “passion” for genealogy.
If you would like to be a St. Louis Genealogical Society volunteer, please check out the list of current opportunities and complete a volunteer form.
Quick Help Guides
The society has created several Quick Help guides on how to use various features of the StLGS website. These are in PDF format and are free to both members and non-members. Just click on one of the links below to download a copy that you can read on your computer or print out.
